Khmer Lunar Calendar (iOS)

Your privacy is fundamental to our design. Khmer Lunar Calendar ("the App") by Rottnak Labs / Leang Rottnak keeps most of your information on your device. This policy explains what stays local, what may leave the device through Apple or third-party services, and how to contact us.

1. Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following locally. We do not operate a first-party server that receives this content:

• Reminders & notes: Titles, note text, dates, alert offsets, repeat rules, and categories (for example personal tasks or leave).
• Reminder photos: Images you attach to reminders are compressed and stored locally on your device (in the app sandbox or App Group container). They are never uploaded.
• Leave types: Names and colors you configure for day-off planning.
• Preferences: Language (Khmer / English), appearance, day-type colors, tab order, weekend settings, and calendar event filters.
• Location preference (not GPS): The Cambodia province and district you select for weather and sunrise/sunset. The App does not request device Location Services permission.
• World clocks: Up to two saved city/timezone choices.
• Weather cache: Recent weather and forecast data for your selected district.
• Widgets: A snapshot shared with the widget extension through the App Group group.com.rottnaklab.KhmerCalendarPro so calendar and reminder widgets can update on the Home Screen. This sharing is on-device only. Snapshots may include holiday or reminder titles needed to render the widget.

Deleting the App removes this local data (including App Group data associated with the App). An active Apple In-App Purchase subscription is managed by Apple and is not deleted when you remove the App — manage or cancel it in Subscriptions.

2. Permissions

Notifications

With your permission, the App schedules local notifications for holiday and personal reminders (alerts, sound, and badge). Notification content is generated on your device (and may include reminder titles you set) and is not sent to our servers.

Camera (optional)

If you grant camera permission, you can take a photo and attach it to a reminder. Photos are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded.

Photos (optional)

If you grant photo library permission, you can attach an existing image from your library to a reminder. Images are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings.

App Tracking Transparency

On supported iOS versions the App may ask for tracking permission (including for users who later purchase Premium). The system prompt uses this purpose string:

“Your data will be used to deliver personalized ads and experience while keeping the calendar free to use.”

If you decline, ads may still appear in a non-personalized form when the free tier is active. Premium removes ads; declining ATT only affects whether ads can be personalized.

Location

The App does not request GPS or Location Services. Weather and sun times use the coordinates of the Cambodia district you choose in Settings.

3. Information Processed Through Apple & Partners

Partners below process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control how long they retain information. Some processing may occur outside Cambodia (for example Amplitude’s US endpoint and Google advertising infrastructure).

Apple WeatherKit

When weather is enabled for your selected district, the App requests weather from Apple WeatherKit using that district’s coordinates. Apple processes the request under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Attribution may link to Apple Weather legal pages.

StoreKit / Premium

Optional Premium is sold through Apple In-App Purchase (monthly product com.rottnaklab.khmercalendarpro.monthly). Premium currently removes ads; calendar features remain available without purchase. Payment details are handled by Apple. We do not receive your credit card number. Purchase/restore status is used only to unlock Premium on your device.

Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)

The free version may show advertisements via Google AdMob. AdMob may use device advertising identifiers (such as IDFA when tracking is allowed), SKAdNetwork, and related measurement technologies subject to your ATT choice and Google’s policies. Tracking-related domains declared in our privacy manifest include doubleclick.net, googlesyndication.com, and googleadservices.com.

Amplitude (analytics)

We use Amplitude for product analytics to understand feature use and improve the App. Events may include sessions, screen views, onboarding steps, language or region preference changes, tab usage, paywall views, subscription purchase/restore outcomes, notification permission requests and results, settings changes, and high-level reminder actions (for example created/deleted). Properties may include language, selected province and district (ids and English names), climate zone, Premium status, app version and platform, and device metadata (such as device model, operating system version, and a device identifier). Analytics may be processed in the United States.

We do not send the full text of your personal notes or reminder bodies to Amplitude as analytics content.

Apple App Store diagnostics

If you share analytics with Apple, Apple may provide crash and performance diagnostics according to your iOS settings and Apple’s privacy policy.

4. What We Do Not Do

• We do not require an account or social login.
• We do not sell or rent your personal data.
• We do not operate a cloud backup of your reminders, notes, or settings on Rottnak Labs servers.
• We do not access Apple Calendar (EventKit) — Apple Calendar events are never read, written, or uploaded.
• We do not upload your reminders, reminder photos, or settings to Rottnak Labs servers.
• We do not collect birth-chart profiles, “bonds,” or horoscope compatibility data — those are not part of Khmer Lunar Calendar.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is a general-audience productivity calendar. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for the purpose of selling data or creating profiles beyond the limited advertising and analytics described above.

6. Changes

We may update this policy as the App evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
